Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) meets perinatal mental health
I offer individual counseling for adults (18+) primarily using strategies and interventions grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This modality is an evidenced based, cognitive behavioral therapy that can support an improved ability to:
Contact the present moment
Exercise self-compassion
Make room for difficult thoughts, feelings, emotions, and experiences.
Identify personal values and take action to move toward the life you’re wanting.
ACT may be useful if you’re noticing difficulty staying present with loved ones, getting “stuck” in difficult thoughts and feelings, or losing touch with the sense of who you are and what matters to you. If this sounds like you, know that you are not alone and you deserve support. I will combine my experience and knowledge of perinatal mental health with ACT interventions to help clarify a way forward.
